Alex Rolluda AIA, NCARB

Alex was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. In 1975, Alex’s family moved back to the Philippines, the family’s homeland. He would later attend the University of Santo Tomas in Manila to study Architecture. In 1981, Alex returned to Seattle and attended the University of Washington, completing his Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1987 and receiving his Masters degree in 1989.

​After working in a partnership from 1996 through 2001 at Rolluda + Scott Architects, Alex formed Rolluda Architects in September of 2002. Always community-driven, Alex is actively involved in the business and ethnic communities of Seattle. He has served as Commissioner for the Pike Place Market Historic District and currently serves as Chair for the Design Committee. He is a past Commissioner for the International District Association and is actively involved in the AIA Seattle, Diversity Committee and Architect in Schools Program.

​Alex was appointed by the State of Washington’s Director of Enterprise Services, to serve as the Capitol Campus Design Advisory Committee (CCDAC) Chair beginning in February of 2018 through December 2018. Alex worked collaboratively with the Vice-Chair to preside over the CCDAC meetings, facilitate discussions, and formulate recommendations necessary to advise the State Capitol Committee (SCC) and the Department of Enterprise Services (DES) for the attainment of architectural, aesthetic, functional, and environment excellence in design and maintenance of capitol campus facilities and in neighboring communities.

​Alex has a strong interest in programming and pre-design, assisting clients in exploring all the possibilities. He enjoys leading interest groups and facilitating workshops to determine a project’s needs and goals.

​Alex lives in the Seattle area and enjoys time with his wife and two teenage kids.
