777 Automated Spray Method (ASM) and 777 Wing Paint Cells and Control Booth
the boeing company
As a subconsultant, Rolluda Architects provided architectural design for this complex "hybrid" design-build delivery project. The project consisted of two new 777 robotic paint booths with retractable roofs, control booth with blast-proof viewing windows, and robot hangar used for loading and unloading paint and other related items. The robots provided the painting system for the 777 airplane wings.
The project required coordination of core and shell design with fire and life safety, mechanical, electrical, structural, and automated spray method manufacturer's design requirements and tolerances. Many systems and structures needed to be upgraded to support the robotic painting proecess.
