Fort Worden State Park

The project involved the renovation of the historic Building #305 on the Fort Worden State Park campus. A part of the original Fort Worden garrison, it served as a quartermaster’s office and warehouse, and has generally survived unaltered. It is single-story, wood frame construction on a stone and brick foundation. At the time the building was being converted into a multi-purpose conference center but was envisioned to support an arts and education facility that will be the anchor for redevelopment of the adjacent Makers Square.
The design was developed for the original adaptive reuse of Building 305 as a conference center. The program included three multi-purpose rooms on the main floor and six classrooms on the lower floor. State Parks chose not to program the attic space due to necessary life safety upgrades and budget constraints.
