The ST OMFE project consists of two structures: The Maintenance-of-Way building and the OMF building. The total gross area is 144,000 sf. The buildings were designed and constructed to achieve LEED Gold certification.
RAI's role was that of Interior Architect, responsible for space planning and finishes, furniture and equipment (FFE). As part of the role, RAI performed product research and selection, created color/material boards, produced specifications for the materials, prepared construction documents, and provided permitting support.
The project was completed in 2021 and RAI is provided design services during construction (DSDC). The project required an understanding of ST's design and production processes including QC/QA and the evaluation of Buy America compliance of materials. RAI worked with the 'Project Requirements' document which is roughly the equivalent of ST's Design Criteria Manual ("DCM") for interior architecture.
