The project emphasized preservation with an emphasis on energy-efficiency improvements and aesthetic improvements. Built in 1967, the building had not had a renovation since.
Scope included: replace windows and doors in the dining hall for energy efficiency; repair concrete steps leading to entrance to remove hazardous conditions; provide acoustic treatment to control excessive sound levels; provide a complete interior refurbishing and modernization of finishes that are more maintenance friendly and conducive to treatment programs; upgrade lighting in the seating and serving areas to improve energy efficiency; replace failing door hardware with functional hardware to restore life-cycle; replace existing rooftop exhaust fan and provide new cooling coils to improve energy efficiency and code required work environment; provide code required adequate ventilation in kitchen area
